A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada
A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada was an Indian spiritual leader and the founder of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), commonly known as the Hare Krishna movement. Born in 1896 in Kolkata, India, he dedicated his life to spreading the teachings of Gaudiya Vaishnavism, a tradition focused on the worship of Lord Krishna.
In 1965, Prabhupada traveled to the United States, where he began to establish ISKCON. He wrote numerous books, including translations and commentaries on ancient texts like the Bhagavad Gita and the Srimad Bhagavatam, making these teachings accessible to a global audience.
