A&M Records
A&M Records is an American record label founded in 1962 by Herb Alpert and Jerry Moss. The label is known for its diverse roster of artists and genres, including pop, rock, and jazz. Some of its most famous artists include The Carpenters, Squeeze, and Sheryl Crow. A&M Records played a significant role in the music industry, especially during the 1970s and 1980s.
In 1999, A&M Records was acquired by PolyGram, which later became part of Universal Music Group. Despite the changes in ownership, A&M Records continues to operate as a prominent label, promoting both established and emerging artists in the music scene.
