50 State Quarters Program
The 50 State Quarters Program was a special initiative by the United States Mint that began in 1999. It aimed to honor each of the 50 states by releasing a unique quarter featuring designs that represent the state's history, culture, or symbols. Each quarter was released in the order that the states joined the Union, starting with Delaware and ending with Hawaii in 2008.
This program not only encouraged coin collecting but also educated the public about the diverse heritage of the United States. Many people enjoyed collecting the quarters, and it became a fun way to learn about each state's significance, from California's Golden Gate Bridge to Texas's lone star.
