442nd Regimental Combat Team
The 442nd Regimental Combat Team was a unit of the United States Army during World War II, composed primarily of Japanese American soldiers. Formed in 1943, it was notable for its bravery and effectiveness in combat, despite many of its members facing discrimination and internment in the U.S. due to their heritage.
The 442nd fought in several key battles in Europe, including the rescue of the “Lost Battalion” in France. They became one of the most decorated units for its size in American military history, earning numerous awards, including the Medal of Honor and Distinguished Service Cross.
