2nd Duke of Argyll
The 2nd Duke of Argyll, John Campbell, was born in 1680 and became a prominent Scottish nobleman. He succeeded his father, the 1st Duke of Argyll, in 1743 and played a significant role in the political landscape of Scotland during the 18th century. He was known for his support of the Hanoverian government and his involvement in military campaigns, particularly during the Jacobite risings.
