2014 Indian Floods
In September 2014, the state of Jammu and Kashmir in India experienced devastating floods due to heavy rainfall and the overflowing of the Jhelum River. The floods affected thousands of homes, displacing over 300,000 people and causing significant damage to infrastructure, agriculture, and public services.
Rescue operations were launched by the Indian Army and local authorities to assist those affected. The floods resulted in the loss of lives and widespread destruction, prompting the government to declare it a natural disaster and seek aid for recovery and rehabilitation efforts in the region.
