2 Live Crew
2 Live Crew is an American hip-hop group formed in the mid-1980s in Miami, Florida. Known for their sexually explicit lyrics and party anthems, they gained significant attention in the music industry. Their album, As Nasty As They Wanna Be, became the first album to be deemed legally obscene in the United States, sparking debates about censorship and freedom of speech.
The group consisted of members Luke Skyywalker, Mr. Mixx, Fresh Kid Ice, and Brother Marquis. They played a crucial role in the development of the Southern hip-hop scene and are often credited with popularizing the genre of Miami bass. Their influence continues to be felt in contemporary hip-hop music.
