12th grade
The 12th grade, also known as senior year, is the final year of high school in the United States. Students typically range from 17 to 18 years old and focus on completing their high school education. This year often includes advanced courses and preparation for graduation, as well as standardized tests like the SAT or ACT for college admissions.
During 12th grade, students may also participate in extracurricular activities, such as sports, clubs, and community service. Many students begin applying to colleges or vocational schools, exploring their options for post-secondary education. Graduation ceremonies usually take place in late spring, marking the transition to adulthood.
