인천 상륙 작전
"인천 상륙 작전" (Incheon Landing Operation) was a significant military operation during the Korean War, taking place in September 1950. Led by General Douglas MacArthur, the operation aimed to recapture the South Korean capital, Seoul, and turn the tide of the war against North Korean forces. The surprise amphibious assault at Incheon was strategically planned to outflank the enemy.
The operation began on September 15, 1950, and involved a large-scale landing of United Nations troops. It was successful in securing the port city of Incheon and allowed allied forces to advance inland, ultimately leading to the liberation of Seoul and a shift in the momentum of the war.
