The 유럽연합(EU) is a political and economic union of 27 European countries that are located primarily in Europe. Established in 1993, it aims to promote peace, stability, and economic cooperation among its member states. The EU has its own institutions, such as the 유럽의회 and the 유럽연합 집행위원회, which help in making decisions and implementing policies. One of the key features of the EU is the 단일시장, which allows for the free movement of goods, services, people, and capital among member countries. Additionally, the EU has its own currency, the 유로, used by 19 of the member states, facilitating easier trade and travel within the union.
