대제사장
대제사장, or the High Priest, is a significant religious figure in ancient 이스라엘 history. This role was primarily associated with the 레위지파 and involved overseeing the rituals and sacrifices in the 성전. The High Priest was responsible for maintaining the spiritual well-being of the community and performing key ceremonies, especially on the Day of Atonement, known as 욤 키푸르.
In addition to religious duties, the 대제사장 held a position of authority and influence within the 이스라엘 society. This figure acted as a mediator between the people and 하나님, ensuring that the laws and commandments were followed. The High Priest's lineage was crucial, as only descendants of 아론, the brother of 모세, could serve in this esteemed position.
