단군신화
The "단군신화" (Dangun Myth) is a foundational myth of Korea that tells the story of the creation of the Korean people. According to the myth, Hwanung, the son of the heavenly king, descended to Earth and established a city on Baekdu Mountain. He met a bear and a tiger, who wished to become human. After a test, the bear succeeded and transformed into a woman named Ungnyeo.
Together, Hwanung and Ungnyeo had a son named Dangun, who is considered the legendary founder of the first Korean kingdom, Gojoseon. The myth symbolizes the origins of the Korean nation and reflects themes of nature, divinity, and the importance of ancestry in Korean culture.
