釈迦牟尼 (Buddha)
釈迦牟尼 (Buddha) is the title given to Siddhartha Gautama, the founder of Buddhism. He was born in the 5th to 4th century BCE in what is now Nepal. After experiencing a life of luxury, he renounced his wealth to seek enlightenment. After years of meditation, he attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree and became known as the Buddha, meaning "the Awakened One."
Buddha's teachings focus on the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path, which guide individuals toward overcoming suffering and achieving Nirvana. His philosophy emphasizes compassion, mindfulness, and the importance of understanding the nature of reality. Today, his teachings influence millions around the world and are central to the practice of Buddhism.
