翼手目
翼手目 (Yokushumoku), or Pterosauria, refers to a group of flying reptiles that lived during the Mesozoic Era, approximately 228 to 66 million years ago. These creatures are not dinosaurs but are closely related to them. Pterosaurs are characterized by their large wings, which were formed by a membrane of skin and muscle stretching from their elongated fourth finger to their bodies.
Pterosaurs varied greatly in size and shape, with some having wingspans of over 30 feet, while others were much smaller. They inhabited diverse environments and are believed to have had various feeding strategies, including catching fish and scavenging. Notable examples of pterosaurs include Pteranodon and Quetzalcoatlus.
