Quetzalcoatlus
Quetzalcoatlus was a large pterosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, around 70 million years ago. It is known for its impressive wingspan, which could reach up to 33 feet (10 meters), making it one of the largest flying animals ever. This creature had a long neck, a pointed beak, and was likely a scavenger or fish-eater.
Fossils of Quetzalcoatlus have been found in North America, particularly in what is now Texas. It belonged to a group of flying reptiles called pterosaurs, which are closely related to dinosaurs. Despite its size, Quetzalcoatlus was lightweight, with a body structure adapted for flight.
