源義経
源義経 (Minamoto no Yoshitsune) was a prominent Japanese military leader during the late Heian period. Born in 1159, he was the younger brother of 源頼朝 (Minamoto no Yoritomo), the founder of the Kamakura shogunate. Yoshitsune is best known for his strategic brilliance in battles, particularly during the Genpei War, which led to the downfall of the Taira clan.
Despite his military successes, Yoshitsune faced political challenges and conflicts with his brother. In 1189, he was forced to flee and eventually met a tragic end. His life and exploits have become legendary, inspiring numerous stories, plays, and adaptations in Japanese culture.
