春节
春节, or the Spring Festival, is the most important traditional holiday in China. It marks the beginning of the lunar new year and usually falls between late January and mid-February. Families gather to celebrate with special meals, fireworks, and various cultural activities. The festival lasts for 15 days, culminating in the Lantern Festival.
During 春节, people often clean their homes to sweep away bad luck and decorate with red items, symbolizing good fortune. It is also common to give and receive red envelopes containing money, known as hongbao, as a gesture of good wishes for the new year.
