大仏
大仏 (Daibutsu) refers to large statues of the Buddha found in Japan. The most famous example is the Great Buddha of Nara, located in the Todai-ji temple. This statue, made of bronze and gold leaf, stands about 15 meters tall and was completed in 752 AD.
Another notable 大仏 is the Great Buddha of Kamakura, which is a bronze statue that stands approximately 13.35 meters tall. This statue, completed in 1252, is located in the Kōtoku-in temple. Both 大仏 serve as important cultural and historical symbols in Japanese Buddhism.
