北越
北越, or "North Vietnam," refers to the northern region of Vietnam, which was a significant area during the Vietnam War. It was the capital of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, with Hanoi as its capital city. This region was known for its communist government and played a crucial role in the conflict against South Vietnam and its allies, particularly the United States.
The term "北越" is often used to distinguish this area from 南越, or "South Vietnam," which had a different political system and was supported by Western nations. After the war ended in 1975, North Vietnam successfully unified the country, leading to the establishment of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
