おみくじ
おみくじ is a traditional Japanese fortune-telling practice often found at shrines and temples. Visitors draw a random slip of paper that contains a fortune, which can range from great luck to bad luck. The fortunes are usually categorized into different levels, such as 大吉 (great luck) and 凶 (bad luck), providing guidance for the year ahead.
After reading their fortune, people often tie the slip to a tree or a designated area at the shrine, hoping to leave behind any bad luck. This practice is popular during the New Year and is associated with various religious customs in Shinto and Buddhism.
