كرشنا جانماشتامي
كرشنا جانماشتامي, also known as Janmashtami, is a Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna, the eighth avatar of Vishnu. It typically falls in August or September, on the eighth day of the dark fortnight in the month of Bhadrapada. Devotees observe fasting, engage in prayers, and participate in various cultural activities to honor Krishna's life and teachings.
The festival is marked by vibrant celebrations, including singing devotional songs, reenacting scenes from Krishna's life, and decorating temples and homes. Many people also perform the traditional Dahi Handi event, where teams form human pyramids to break pots filled with curd, symbolizing Krishna's playful nature and his love for butter.
