ذوالحجہ
ذوالحجہ is the twelfth and final month of the Islamic lunar calendar. It holds great significance for Muslims, as it is the month in which the annual pilgrimage, known as حج, takes place. This pilgrimage is one of the Five Pillars of Islam and is obligatory for all Muslims who are physically and financially able to perform it at least once in their lifetime.
During ذوالحجہ, Muslims also celebrate عيد الأضحى, or the Festival of Sacrifice, which commemorates the willingness of إبراهيم (Abraham) to sacrifice his son in obedience to God. The festival involves the ritual sacrifice of animals, and the meat is often shared with family, friends, and those in need, emphasizing the values of charity and community.
