Энеида
"Энеида" is an epic poem written by the Ukrainian poet Ivan Kotlyarevsky in the early 19th century. It is a parody of the ancient Roman epic Aeneid by Virgil, reimagining the story of Aeneas as a Ukrainian hero. The poem is notable for its use of the Ukrainian language and its incorporation of local folklore and customs.
The narrative follows Aeneas and his companions as they journey from Troy to Italy, facing various challenges along the way. "Энеида" is significant in Ukrainian literature as it marked the beginning of modern Ukrainian literature and helped to establish a national identity.
