Σάβας
Σάβας, also known as Saint Sava, was a prominent Serbian prince and the founder of the Serbian Orthodox Church. Born in 1175, he was the youngest son of Stefan Nemanja, the Grand Prince of Serbia. Sava played a crucial role in establishing the Serbian church's independence from the Byzantine Empire and is celebrated for his efforts in promoting education and literacy among the Serbian people.
He is venerated as a saint in the Eastern Orthodox Church and is considered one of the most important figures in Serbian history. His feast day, celebrated on January 27, is a significant cultural event in Serbia, honoring his contributions to the nation and the church.
