ΣΥΡΙΖΑ
ΣΥΡΙΖΑ, or the Coalition of the Radical Left, is a political party in Greece founded in 2004. It emerged from a coalition of leftist groups and has its roots in the Greek left movement. The party advocates for progressive policies, including social justice, environmental protection, and anti-austerity measures.
In the 2015 elections, ΣΥΡΙΖΑ gained significant popularity, leading to the election of Alexis Tsipras as Prime Minister. The party aimed to challenge the economic policies imposed by international creditors during the Greek debt crisis. Over the years, ΣΥΡΙΖΑ has evolved, focusing on issues like immigration, labor rights, and public health.
