Μαραθώνας (Race)
The Μαραθώνας, or Marathon, is a long-distance running race that covers a distance of 42.195 kilometers (26.2 miles). The event is inspired by the ancient Greek legend of Pheidippides, a messenger who ran from the battlefield of Marathon to Athens to announce the Greek victory over the Persians in 490 BC.
Today, the Marathon is a popular athletic event held in many cities worldwide, attracting both professional and amateur runners. It is often seen as a test of endurance and determination, with participants training for months to complete the challenging course.
