Λουδοβίκος XVI
Λουδοβίκος XVI was the King of France from 1774 until his deposition in 1792. He was born on August 23, 1754, and became king at a time of financial crisis and social unrest. His reign saw the rise of the French Revolution, which aimed to challenge the monarchy and establish a republic.
Despite his attempts at reform, including the calling of the Estates-General in 1789, he struggled to maintain control. In 1793, he was tried for treason and executed by guillotine, marking a significant turning point in French history and the end of absolute monarchy in France.
