Αμούν
Αμούν, also known as Amun, was a major deity in ancient Egyptian religion. He was often depicted as a man with a ram's head or as a ram itself. Aμούν was associated with the sun and air, and he became one of the most important gods during the New Kingdom period, particularly in the city of Thebes.
Worship of Αμούν grew significantly, leading to the construction of the grand Karnak Temple complex. He was often combined with the sun god Ra to form Amun-Ra, symbolizing his dual nature as a creator and sustainer of life. His influence extended beyond Egypt, impacting cultures and religions in the surrounding regions.
