Đổi Mới (Reform)
Đổi Mới, or "Reform," refers to a series of economic and political reforms initiated in Vietnam in 1986. The primary goal was to transition from a centrally planned economy to a socialist-oriented market economy. This shift aimed to enhance productivity, attract foreign investment, and improve living standards for the Vietnamese people.
The reforms led to significant changes in various sectors, including agriculture, industry, and trade. Đổi Mới encouraged private enterprise and foreign investment, resulting in rapid economic growth and development. Today, Vietnam is recognized as one of the fastest-growing economies in Southeast Asia due to these transformative policies.
