öre
The "öre" is a subunit of the currency used in Sweden, known as the Swedish krona. One krona is equal to 100 öre. The öre has been used in various forms since the 16th century, but it is now primarily a historical reference, as coins and banknotes in öre are no longer in circulation.
In recent years, the öre has become less relevant due to inflation and the increasing use of digital payments. While prices may still be quoted in öre, transactions are typically rounded to the nearest krona. The Swedish government officially discontinued the use of öre coins in 2010.
