{Transantarctic Mountains
The Transantarctic Mountains are a major mountain range in Antarctica, stretching over 3,500 kilometers (2,200 miles) from the Ross Sea to the Weddell Sea. They divide East Antarctica from West Antarctica and are known for their rugged terrain and extreme weather conditions. The range features some of the highest peaks on the continent, including Mount Vinson, which is the tallest.
These mountains were formed during the geological processes of the Earth, primarily through tectonic activity. The Transantarctic Mountains are also significant for scientific research, as they provide insights into the continent's geological history and climate changes over millions of years.
