威廉·戈德温 (William Godwin) was an English philosopher, novelist, and political thinker born in 1756. He is best known for his work in the field of political philosophy and for being one of the first proponents of anarchism. His most famous book, 政治正义 (Political Justice), published in 1793, argued for the importance of individual liberty and the need for social reform.
Godwin was also a significant figure in the literary world, marrying the famous author 玛丽·雪莱 (Mary Shelley). His ideas influenced many writers and thinkers of the Romantic era, and he is often credited with laying the groundwork for modern liberal thought. He passed away in 1836.
