Two-factor authentication, or 2FA, is a security process that requires two different forms of identification before granting access to an account. This usually involves something you know, like a password, and something you have, such as a smartphone that receives a verification code. By using both methods, it makes it much harder for unauthorized users to access your information. When you log into an account with 2FA, after entering your password, you'll receive a text message or an app notification with a unique code. You must enter this code to complete the login process. This extra step helps protect your accounts from hackers, even if they have your password.
