The triceratops was a large dinosaur that lived during the late Cretaceous period, around 68 to 66 million years ago. It is known for its three distinctive facial horns and a large bony frill at the back of its head. This herbivorous dinosaur could grow up to 30 feet long and weighed around 6 to 12 tons. Triceratops primarily fed on low-lying plants and used its strong beak to clip vegetation.
