tennis elbow
Tennis elbow, or lateral epicondylitis, is a common condition that causes pain on the outer part of the elbow. It occurs when the tendons that attach to the lateral epicondyle become inflamed or degenerated, often due to repetitive motions of the wrist and arm. While it is commonly associated with playing tennis, it can affect anyone who performs repetitive arm activities.
Symptoms of tennis elbow include pain and tenderness on the outer elbow, which may radiate down the forearm. Activities such as gripping, lifting, or twisting can exacerbate the pain. Treatment often involves rest, ice, physical therapy, and in some cases, corticosteroid injections.
