take off (Departure)
Takeoff, or departure, is the phase of flight when an aircraft leaves the ground and begins its ascent into the sky. This process involves the aircraft accelerating down the runway until it reaches a speed sufficient to lift off. Pilots follow specific procedures to ensure a safe and efficient takeoff, including checking weather conditions and aircraft performance.
During takeoff, the aircraft's engines generate thrust, propelling it forward. Once the required speed is achieved, the pilot pulls back on the control yoke, causing the nose of the aircraft to rise. This moment marks the transition from ground travel to flight, allowing the aircraft to climb to its cruising altitude.
