spinal nerves
Spinal nerves are part of the peripheral nervous system and emerge from the spinal cord. There are 31 pairs of spinal nerves, each consisting of sensory and motor fibers. These nerves transmit signals between the body and the central nervous system, allowing for communication and coordination of movements.
Each spinal nerve is connected to a specific segment of the spinal cord and serves a particular region of the body. They are categorized into different groups: cervical, thoracic, lumbar, sacral, and coccygeal. This organization helps in the proper functioning of bodily sensations and motor control.
