rock hyraxes
Rock hyraxes are small, herbivorous mammals found in Africa and the Middle East. They typically weigh between 4 to 5.5 kg and have a stocky body with short legs and a rounded face. These animals are known for their social behavior, often living in groups called colonies, which provide protection from predators.
Despite their resemblance to rodents, rock hyraxes are more closely related to elephants and manatees. They inhabit rocky areas and are excellent climbers, using their agility to escape threats. Their diet mainly consists of grasses, leaves, and fruits, making them important for their ecosystem.
