reticulated python
The reticulated python is one of the longest snake species in the world, capable of reaching lengths over 20 feet (6 meters). Native to Southeast Asia, it is known for its distinctive pattern of dark brown and yellow scales, which helps it blend into its tropical surroundings. This non-venomous constrictor primarily hunts small to medium-sized mammals and birds.
Reticulated pythons are excellent swimmers and can often be found in water. They are solitary creatures, typically active at night. Due to habitat loss and hunting, their populations are declining, leading to concerns about their conservation status in the wild.
