Homonym: range (Scope)
The term "range" refers to the difference between the highest and lowest values in a set of data. For example, if you have the numbers 3, 7, and 10, the range is calculated by subtracting the smallest number (3) from the largest number (10), resulting in a range of 7. This concept is commonly used in statistics to understand the spread of data.
In addition to statistics, "range" can also describe the area in which something operates or exists. For instance, the range of a vehicle indicates how far it can travel on a full tank of fuel. Similarly, the range of a musical instrument refers to the variety of notes it can produce.
