quadrants
A quadrant is a section of a two-dimensional space divided by two perpendicular lines, typically referred to as the x-axis and y-axis. In a standard Cartesian coordinate system, these axes intersect at the origin, creating four distinct areas. Each quadrant is identified by a number: Quadrant I (top right), Quadrant II (top left), Quadrant III (bottom left), and Quadrant IV (bottom right).
Quadrants are commonly used in mathematics, particularly in graphing functions and analyzing data. They help in visualizing relationships between variables, making it easier to understand concepts like slope, intercepts, and trigonometric functions.
