polarization (Light)
Polarization of light refers to the orientation of light waves in a specific direction. Normally, light waves vibrate in multiple directions, but when light is polarized, its waves align in a single plane. This can occur naturally, such as when sunlight reflects off surfaces like water or glass, or artificially through filters that only allow certain orientations of light to pass through.
There are different methods of polarization, including reflection, refraction, and scattering. Polarized light is commonly used in various applications, such as in sunglasses to reduce glare, in 3D movies to create depth perception, and in optical devices for enhancing image quality.
