pauropods
Pauropods are small, soft-bodied arthropods belonging to the class Pauropoda. They typically measure between 0.5 to 2 millimeters in length and have a segmented body with 12 to 16 segments. Pauropods are often found in moist environments, such as leaf litter and soil, where they play a role in decomposing organic matter.
These creatures have a unique appearance, featuring a pair of antennae and numerous legs, usually around 9 to 11 pairs. Pauropods are detritivores, feeding on decaying plant material and fungi, which helps recycle nutrients in their ecosystems. They are not harmful to humans and are rarely seen due to their small size and habitat preferences.
