octahedrons
An octahedron is a three-dimensional geometric shape that has eight triangular faces. It is one of the five Platonic solids, which are shapes with identical faces, edges, and angles. Each vertex of an octahedron connects four edges, and it has a total of six vertices and twelve edges.
Octahedrons can be found in various natural and man-made structures. For example, the arrangement of atoms in some crystals can form octahedral shapes. Additionally, octahedrons are often used in games, such as role-playing games, where they serve as dice, known as d8, to generate random numbers.
