mezuzot
A mezuzah is a small case affixed to the doorposts of Jewish homes, containing a scroll of parchment known as a klaf. This scroll is inscribed with specific biblical verses from the Torah, particularly the Shema, which expresses the oneness of God. The mezuzah serves as a reminder of faith and the presence of God in the home.
Traditionally, a mezuzah is placed on the right side of the doorframe at an angle. It is customary for Jewish families to touch the mezuzah and then kiss their fingers as they enter or leave, symbolizing respect and connection to their faith.
