magnetic materials
Magnetic materials are substances that can be magnetized or attracted to a magnet. They contain tiny regions called magnetic domains, which align in the presence of a magnetic field. Common examples of magnetic materials include iron, nickel, and cobalt. These materials are used in everyday items like refrigerator magnets and electric motors.
There are different types of magnetic materials, such as ferromagnetic, paramagnetic, and diamagnetic. Ferromagnetic materials, like iron, can retain their magnetism even after the external magnetic field is removed. In contrast, paramagnetic materials are only weakly attracted to magnets, while diamagnetic materials are repelled by them.
