kloroplasztok
A kloroplasztok, or chloroplast, is a specialized organelle found in the cells of plants and some algae. These structures are responsible for photosynthesis, the process by which light energy is converted into chemical energy in the form of glucose. Chloroplasts contain chlorophyll, the green pigment that captures sunlight, allowing plants to produce their own food.
Chloroplasts have a double membrane and contain their own DNA, which is similar to that of bacteria. This suggests that chloroplasts may have originated from ancient symbiotic bacteria. In addition to photosynthesis, chloroplasts are involved in other important processes, such as the synthesis of fatty acids and amino acids.
