ki-o-rahi
Ki-o-rahi is a traditional Māori ball game from New Zealand, played on a circular field divided into zones. The game combines elements of rugby, netball, and touch football, and is played by two teams, each consisting of seven players. The objective is to score points by hitting a central target called the tupu while also defending their own.
The game is rich in cultural significance and often includes storytelling elements, reflecting Māori history and traditions. Players use a round ball, known as a pūtorino, and the game emphasizes teamwork, strategy, and agility, making it both competitive and engaging.
