jonbindningar
Jonbindningar, or ionic bonds, are a type of chemical bond that occurs between atoms when one atom transfers electrons to another. This process creates charged particles called ions: one atom becomes a positively charged ion, or cation, while the other becomes a negatively charged ion, or anion. The electrostatic attraction between these oppositely charged ions holds them together, forming a stable compound.
These bonds are typically formed between metals and nonmetals. For example, when natrium (sodium) reacts with klor (chlorine), sodium donates an electron to chlorine, resulting in the formation of natriumklorid (sodium chloride), commonly known as table salt.
