hour hand
The hour hand is one of the two main hands on a traditional analog clock. It is typically shorter and thicker than the minute hand, and it moves slowly around the clock face to indicate the current hour. The hour hand completes one full rotation every 12 hours, pointing to the numbers 1 through 12.
As the hour hand moves, it divides the day into two 12-hour segments. Each hour is further divided into 60 minutes, which are indicated by the minute hand. The hour hand works in conjunction with the minute hand and the second hand, if present, to provide a complete picture of time.
